This industry is extremely competitive and can be very confusing. Especially during a time where we have see a rise in depression, anxiety, stress as well as defiance — which is causing many of our young people to fail in school. Since 2020 teen depression and anxiety has doubled.
The “desperate parent” is at high risk of making wrong decisions that may be detrimental to you and your child. Since we were once in that position, we want you to take comfort in the fact that you are not alone and give you the opportunity to learn from our experiences and more importantly, gain from our knowledge. We help educate parents.
Researching can be time consuming and tedious, yet very important. How do you know if a program or school is right for your child or if they really are who they claim to be? We speak from our hearts and our experiences to give you a feeling of ease.
Restricting your search to a geographical area limits your chances of finding the right placement for your child. We encourage you to review what is best for your child’s emotional wellness, not what is closest to home.
The fact is, in some situations, parents have exhausted their local resources. The last resort to save their child’s emotional wellness is finding a safe, healthy and quality residential setting. This is not about fearmongering — it’s about giving parents the tools to better understand the big-business of teen help, but learning from our mistakes and gaining from vast knowledge.
We believe in finding a positive and encouraging setting for children. Placing a negative child into a negative environment can usually build resentment and anger, especially to the family that placed them there. We encourage parents to find programs with enrichment programs that will stimulate your teen such as: animal-assisted therapy, sports, horticulture therapy, music therapy, dance, art therapy and more.
