Why are there so many therapeutic programs in Utah?
P.U.R.E.™ is an organization that helps educate parents and families that are considering Therapeutic Boarding Schools and Residential Treatment Centers for troubled teens.
In many situation these are good kids making bad choices. The teen help business is extremely competitive and can be very confusing, especially for a parent that is at their wit’s end.
The desperate parent is at high risk of making wrong decisions that may be detrimental to you and your child. Since we were once in that position, we want you to take comfort in the fact that you are not alone and give you the opportunity to learn from our experiences and more importantly, gain from our knowledge.
Researching can be time consuming and tedious, yet very important. How do you know if a program or school is right for your child or if they really are who they claim to be? The internet can be extremely daunting, many times you call toll-free numbers only to find out they are marketing arms.
There are many programs in Utah since the age of majority is 18 years-old. Your teen does not have the ability to sign themselves out of the program without their parent’s consent before the age of 18. In many states, especially on the East Coast, the age of majority can be 16 or 17. If you have a younger teen, you can risk them walking out of a program and the family is still financially liable.
There are only a few other states with age of majority of 18 – contact us for more information.
